Corresponding with the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, the centerpiece of A Mighty Fortress will be Felix Mendelssohn’s Reformation Symphony, performed by the orchestra and featuring the King of Kings Lutheran Church’s King’s Choir singing the chorale piece A Mighty Fortress is Our God. The concert will also feature EMSO’s new concertmaster, Joan Molloy, performing Antonio Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto in G minor and special performances by the King of Kings Lutheran Church’s King’s Choir, Brass Ensemble, and JuBELLation Handbell Choir. A meet-and- greet with orchestra members and refreshments will immediately follow the performance.
