East Metro Symphony Orchestra is proud to share that the orchestra has received another Arts Experiences grant through the Minnesota State Arts Board for our Symphonies for Seniors program. This grant will support programming running from April 2025 through March 2026.

Symphonies for Seniors is a unique program that brings EMSO orchestra members to senior living facilities in the east metro to perform in small ensemble groups or full orchestra performances, offering residents of those facilities ready access to live orchestral music. In the past year, EMSO has grown this program to include more performances at more locations!
EMSO president, James Slegers, says the orchestra is grateful to the Minnesota State Arts Board and the people of Minnesota for once again granting us the opportunity to perform for these underserved groups. “Symphonies for Seniors is a great opportunity for us to connect with our neighbors and to bring music to places that it might not otherwise reach. It is a joy to be able to bring this music to this community.”

Thanks to Grant Administrator Anna Salisbury for leading the grant process for the orchestra, and to the many amazing musicians who have made this program a success. We are so pleased to be able to continue this important work for another season!
