East Metro Symphony Orchestra is a Merrill Arts Center Affiliated Organization

The activities of EMSO are made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to legislation appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

EMSO Mission

EMSO’s mission is to provide a broad range of educational, multicultural, and inspirational orchestral experiences to East Metro communities.

EMSO Purpose

EMSO’s purpose is to educate the orchestra’s musicians and audiences by performing a broad range of culturally-diverse, challenging, and entertaining music; to provide opportunities for life-long avocational musicians and accomplished soloists of all ages to perform with a symphony orchestra; and to continue the orchestra’s tradition since 1957 of providing affordable concerts to East Metro audiences.

EMSO Commitment

EMSO is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community.  We welcome and celebrate people of every race, ethnicity, cultural experience, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, physical and mental ability, education, and religion being a part of our orchestra and our audiences.
