Nahree Ki is very happy she chose to join the East Metro Symphony Orchestra. Last year, she was looking for ways to connect musically in her community when an invitation from an EMSO member to join a summer string ensemble introduced her to the orchestra. “Joining EMSO was the best decision I made in 2018!”
Nahree, who is a New Product Marketer at 3M, plays cello for EMSO, and has been playing the instrument for 20 years. She also plays piano and guitar. Her first season with the orchestra, EMSO’s 10th Anniversary Season, was an eventful one, and has already offered many memorable moments. “My favorite memories of my first season with EMSO are the paper bag ‘cannons’ during the performance of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture (A Joyful Noise, 2018) and dressing up for Mardi Gras at EMSO’s annual pops concert and silent auction (Mardi Gras!, 2019).
She is hoping for an equally stellar second year, which is set to be another landmark season for EMSO, as it ventures into new territory with new performances, venues, and leadership. “I’m looking forward to another great season of diverse music selections and continued improvement under the direction of [new EMSO music director and conductor] Craig Hara. We are a fun, talented group who is always up for trying new things! Our concerts this year have exciting new themes with a solid set of beautiful and technically demanding pieces. I think this season will be a delight for our audience’s ears.”
