Caleb Bevilacqua – Violin

Caleb joined EMSO in 2025.

He began playing violin in 5th grade and later attended the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, a performing arts high school. He also plays violin in a folk band with Seamus Donelan.

Caleb’s primary instrument is a carbon fiber violin made by Mezzo-Forte in Germany. With Minnesota’s extreme weather and a busy schedule, Caleb needs a durable instrument that can be left in a vehicle or taken to outdoor gigs without worry. The best part? It (almost) never goes out of tune!

Outside of music, Caleb works as a Lead Security Officer at a hospital in downtown St. Paul. Currently living in Hudson, Wisconsin, Caleb grew up in the Twin Cities.

In 2023, he bought a cabin, which has become his favorite getaway spot. When there, Caleb loves working on projects, playing the violin outside where no one can hear it, riding his motorcycle or ATV, and wandering around Home Depot aimlessly. He is happiest outdoors: hunting, fishing, and relaxing.

At home, Caleb lives with his three cats — Tony, Sapphire, and Gunny.

Music has always played a profound role in Caleb’s life. He says it “makes me feel alive and present, enriching my life and the lives of those I play for.” As an advocate for mental health awareness, Caleb believes in music’s power to release those “happy chemicals” in our brains. When he plays, he says “I’m not thinking about an important meeting coming up, the dirty dishes in the sink, or that new rattle in my car — and I hope my music offers that same escape for those listening.”
