EMSO Receives Grant for Symphonies for Seniors Concerts

East Metro Symphony Orchestra is proud to be a recipient of the Minnesota State Arts Board 2022 Creative Support for Organizations Grant!

This grant will be used to present our Symphonies for Seniors ensemble performances at several senior residences in the East Metro area between March 2022 and February 2023, as well as to support EMSO’s administrative and other expenses.

EMSO has a newly-formed string ensemble, called the East Metro Chamber Ensemble, that will be performing monthly concert at senior residences.  Led by EMSO’s concertmaster Aja Majkrzak, the ensemble includes 4-12 string players at each Sunday afternoon performance. Other small groups, like the East Metro Jazz, will be performing on occasion as well.

EMSO musicians perform a Symphonies for Seniors small ensemble concert at Stonecrest Senior Living Community on December 7, 2021.

EMSO would like to thank the Minnesota State Arts Board for funding our Symphonies for Seniors performances and for its continued support of our organization!

Three Symphonies for Seniors ensemble performances are currently scheduled for this spring.  For more information visit EMSO’s Symphonies for Seniors website.
