Maria joined EMSO for the 2022-2023 season at the encouragement of a wonderful coworker, and is incredibly glad to be playing music again regularly after about a 10 year hiatus. She and her violin are both grateful for the welcoming orchestra members and to share music with such a fun-loving audience.
Originally from southeastern WI, Maria has lived in MN for 12+ years, and appreciates exploring all parts of Minneapolis, St Paul, and the metro area. Maria works as an architect designing school buildings, and finds it interesting to be ‘on the other side’ of the design process in practicing at the various east metro area schools that graciously share space for EMSO’s rehearsals.
Beyond music and work, being outside and appreciating nature is one of Maria’s favorite pastimes. She enjoys anything creative, checking out restaurants/breweries and cities in general (especially on foot), traveling, spending time with friends and family – which includes her partner, 2 cats and a dog – teaching and practicing yoga, and reading. She wants to send sincere thanks to you for being a part of the EMSO community, and hopes you find music in the everyday!
